This is the independent professional profile of Rana Usman Ahmad. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, how it is stored, and the rights you have over it. It is written with UK and EU visitors and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind.

What I collect

When you use a form on this site, I collect and store:

• Contact and inquiry forms: your name, email address, the inquiry type, your message, and the page the form was submitted from.
• Resource and newsletter sign-ups: your name, email address, and which resource or form you signed up through.

I do not ask for special category data, and please do not include sensitive personal details in a message. The site does not require an account.

Why I collect it, and the lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and continue the conversation. Lawful basis: legitimate interest, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
• To send a resource you asked for and, if you opted in, occasional related material. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How it is stored and shared

Submissions are stored securely in a managed PostgreSQL database (Neon), accessible only to the site owner through an authenticated admin panel and over encrypted connections. Email is delivered through Resend when configured. These providers process data on my behalf as processors. I do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Data is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry or your subscription, then deleted on request or during routine review.

Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, request its deletion, restrict or object to processing, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, including deletion, email hello@ranausmanahmad.comand I will action it. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Analytics

Any analytics in use are privacy-respecting and used only to understand general traffic patterns. They are documented here once configured.
